We have some exciting news to share! This week, the Commonwealth’s Department of Housing and Community Development’s (DHCD) accepted Uptown Partnership into its first-ever Mobilizing Main Street Program cohort-based program. This two-year program will provide the framework for targeted organizational development support to Exploring Main Street (EMS) communities interested in pursuing Advancing Virginia Main Street (VMS) designation and Main Street America accredited status.

On behalf of the UP board, we would like to thank our staff and volunteers, as well as our many partners, who have worked tirelessly over the past three years to advance our community in the VMS program, while keeping community engagement at the forefront. We are proud to see UP and the Martinsville community to move forward with VMS and continue this important work to revitalize Uptown Martinsville.
